Gotta Name 'Em All — the Pokémon naming quiz

Gotta Name 'Em All is a free, browser-based Pokémon naming quiz in the spirit of "Who's that Pokémon?". You are shown a board of blurred Pokémon and a single text box: type a name and every matching Pokémon on the board is revealed at once. The goal is simple — name as many Pokémon as you can before the clock runs out. Nothing to install, no account required, and it works on phones and desktops alike.

How to play the Pokémon quiz

Pick which generations you want in the pool — from Kanto (Generation 1) all the way to Paldea (Generation 9) — or choose "All" for the full Pokédex. Alternate forms such as Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, Mega Evolutions and Gigantamax appear only when the generation that introduced them is in play. Type answers in any supported language; near-misses and spacing are forgiven. If you get stuck you can turn on optional hints — silhouettes, Pokédex descriptions or a spelling assist — but each hint you use lowers the value of that answer.

Game modes and scoring

Four timer presets set the difficulty: Free (no countdown), Relax (30 seconds per Pokémon), Normal (20 s) and Hard (10 s). Playing against a countdown multiplies the points you earn, while Free mode gives no bonus. Your score rewards clean answers, a full-Pokédex clear and a capped pace bonus, and it is docked for spelling help. If you give up, the board is revealed and a flashcard review lets you test yourself on the Pokémon you missed before seeing the results.

Multiplayer, leaderboard and cross-device play

Create a room to play with a friend: co-op to fill one shared board together, or versus to race on separate boards. A global and a weekly leaderboard track your best single run and can be filtered by the exact generation combo you played. Sign in with Google, email and password, or as a guest — and once you are signed in an in-progress solo run follows you from one device to another.

Eight languages

The whole interface and every Pokémon name are available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese, so you can quiz yourself on the names you actually learned them by.
